I try to rate my books on how much I enjoyed them, the quality of the writing and whether I would recommend the book to a lot of people, a few people, or not recommend it at all. 

★★★★★ 

This book is brilliant. It has really stood out to me and I loved every minute of it. I would recommend this book to a high majority of readers.

This was a good book. There were some parts that I didn't like, but it was mostly enjoyable. I would recommend this book to some readers, but not all.

This book was ok. The bad parts were roughly equal to the good parts, 

 it could do with some improvement. I would recommend this book to a few readers only.

This book wasn't good, but it wasn't completely a lost cause. The bad outweighs the good here, but I have tried to read the book all the way through. It is unlikely I would recommend this book to more than a few readers.

This book was terrible. There is little to no good that I can say about it, and it is quite likely I did not finish reading it. I would not recommend this book to almost no readers.
